About

Hi, thanks for having a look to see who I am...

Fast forward 16 years…

In the Autumn of 1998, I got my first taste of theatre while watching a production of Blitz by the Murton Amateur Operatic Society. There was a blackout during the show (which, you know, isn’t great for a performance) and, as the stage went dark, I accidentally caught a glimpse of the backstage world. I was hooked. I wanted to know what was happening behind the scenes, how all the magic came together. The following year, I joined the society and performed in The Desert Song—my first show, and I’m happy to report, not the last!

From there, I went from stage crew to diving into Theatre Lighting Design, which ended up becoming my thing. Over the years, I’ve designed and lit over 150 shows, from community productions to full-scale professional musicals. I now run my own company, Theatre Creative Productions, and still take on work as a lighting designer, with a bit of stage management and directing thrown in for good measure.

In 2018, I decided to branch out even further and started managing theatre tours. It all kicked off with a fringe performance of Canary, and since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic shows, including the brilliant Daisy Donald, a recent project with Blackbird Creative Arts. There’s something really special about taking a show on the road and seeing how different audiences connect with it.

Exciting news!
In 2025, I’ll be taking a brand-new show called Encore! Live on tour across the UK. It’s a full-scale, interactive musical that’s bound to be a lot of fun. You can check out more about it at www.encorelive.co.uk.

If you’re interested in what else I do, feel free to visit www.theatrecreativeproductions.co.uk, which is where you can learn about my company. And, for those of you who are curious about lighting (I mean, who wouldn’t be?), you can also take a look at www.theatrelightingdesign.co.uk — my dedicated lighting design site. (WIP, so if you are looking for lighting design, message me here.)

That's Me...

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I was born in 1982, just after Channel 4 started broadcasting. Its first show? Countdown—a real brain-teaser that still manages to make words out of random letters. Back then, winters were proper winters, and you could count on getting free milk at school (whether you wanted it or not).

I look forward to working with you soon...
